Circolo San Pietro

The “Worship Committee” assists with religious observances, in particular with Sunday Eucharistic celebrations, at the Church of Santa Maria della Pietà near the Colosseum, which was assigned to the Circolo in 1936.

The “International Aid Committee” allows the sodality to cross the Italian boarder by carrying out activities for abandoned children and for seminarians in countries far away and in need.

A special “Honor Guard” has the privilege of assisting the Holy Father during papal liturgical ceremonies.

The Public Information section spreads the Christian message, contributes to the spiritual and cultural development of members and informs them of the sodality’s various activities.

An Assistance Center is available to meet different needs referred to it daily from the various outreach services of the sodality by offering medical, psychological and legal aid.

A hospice center for the terminally ill, which opened in 1998 at the Sacro Cuore clinic in Rome, is the most recent activity undertaken by the Circolo. This center welcomes patients into a peaceful and familial atmosphere at this most delicate and difficult time in their lives. They are lovingly assisted by a group of volunteers specially trained for this kind of care.

With these activities the Circolo San Pietro sodality continues its 138 year history of service.
