The Philatelic and Numismatic Office is celebrating the event with a commemorative miniature sheet with a 4.50 euro value and one with four values of 1.00 euro, in a joint issue with Poland. The postage stamps feature the Holy Father depicted with a group of young people of different ethnic backgrounds, recalling the international nature of the event drawing people from around the world, as well as creating a sense of the universality itself of the Gospel message. The logo of World Youth Day created by artist Monika Rybczyńska is artistically represented in the upper right part of the miniature sheet, on each stamp, and on the left side of the sheet. The logo clearly shows the cross, since the essence of World Youth Day itself is the personal encounter of young people with Jesus Christ, as represented symbolically by the circle. The perimeter of the sheet features an artistic representation of the borders of the host nation. Also printed on the sheet are the words to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy dictated by Jesus to Saint Faustina Kowalska in 1935.
