25th ANNIVERSARY OF THE “CENTESIMUS ANNUS PRO PONTIFICE” FOUNDATION  

On 5 June 1993 Saint John Paul II officially established the “Centesimus Annus - Pro Pontifice” Foundation with the purpose of promoting the study and dissemination of the Church’s social doctrine and information on the activities of the Holy See, as outlined in his Encyclical “Centesimus Annus”. In his address to the Foundation on 13 May 2016, The postage stamp, a work by artist Daniela Longo, features a detail of a painting by Domenico Ghirlandaio, “The Adoration of the Magi”, dated around 1485-1488 and kept in the Gallery of the Spedale degli Innocenti in Florence.
