The Sacraments of Christian Initiation: Confirmation
The seven sacraments of the Church are Baptism. Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance and Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders and Matrimony. The three sacraments of Christian Initiation are Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. After Baptism, the second year of the triennial Golden Programme of Vatican City is dedicated to Confirmation, the sacrament which confirms and strengthens baptismal grace. On the 50 Euro coin are depicted the Apostles and the Virgin who receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and proclaim 'the mighty acts of God'. The 20 Euro coin depicts a bishop with the baptized and the laying on of hands to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
