Useful information
Post and Philately is a service provided by the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate of Vatican City State.
The Post and Philately Service
- manages all activities related to collecting, stamping and sending mail, inside and outside of Vatican City State, as well as deliveries of incoming mail;
- is responsible for technical aspects involved in relations with other postal operators, and with the competent supranational and international Bodies;
- is responsible for all activities related to stamps, postal products and philately
Vatican City State has been a member of the Universal Postal Union since 1 January 1929.
Important:
- Postal services to the following countries are currently SUSPENDED:
- Sudan, South Sudan
- North Korea;
- Timor L’Este;
- Micronesia, Niue, French Southern and Antarctic Lands
Any mail addressed to the above countries will be held by the Post and Philately Service until postal service is resumed.
