Environmental sustainability, the responsible use of resources, and the protection of our common home. These are the principles behind the Memorandum of Understanding signed on Wednesday, 10 June, between the Governorate of Vatican City State, the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA), the Fratello Sole Foundation, and ACEA.
The Postal and Philately Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate has issued a commemorative envelope, a special postal cancellation, and a presentation folder to mark the first anniversary of the election of Pope Leo XIV.
On Wednesday, 10 June 2026, the staff of the Postal and Philatelic Service travelled to the picturesque hillside town of Tivoli for their annual company field trip.
The group gathered at 9:00 a.m. at the entrance to the historic Villa d’Este, led by the Head of Service, Fr Felice Bruno, and the Director of Telecommunications and Information Systems, Antonino Intersimone.
The traditional procession for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, Corpus Christi, took place on Thursday, June 4, in the verdant setting of the Vatican Gardens.

Pope Leo XIV, through a Chirograph dated 1 June 2026, has established the Fratello Sole Foundation and approved its Statute. As the Pope writes in the Chirograph, “The Foundation represents a sign of hope for the future and an example of how it is possible to reconcile energy production and agriculture while respecting and protecting the environment, in accordance with the principles of environmental sustainability and care for our common home contained in the Encyclical Laudato si’, the Apostolic Exhortation Laudate Deum, the Motu Proprio Fratello Sole and, more generally, in the social Magisterium of the Church.”
“Everyone can and must do their part”
Prayer becomes mission and prophecy: “There must no longer be the weeping of innocents in our cities; no one should have to flee their home because of the threat of bombs; the longing for power and the violence of words must give way to a thirst for justice and truth. But everyone can and must do their part, starting with small yet important actions, refraining from all verbal or physical violence, in everyday life and also on social media.”
As part of the celebrations for the 325th anniversary of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy, the Choir of the Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci Foundation performed a concert in the Braccio Nuovo of the Vatican Museums on Wednesday afternoon, 27 May 2026.

In memory of Judge Giovanni Falcone, hundreds of students took part in the 6th edition of the initiative “Men and Women in Uniform, a Resource for the Community”, dedicated to the victims of the mafia and to all those who sacrificed their lives in the service of the Italian State.
The Postal and Philatelic Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate has created two special postmarks: one to mark the Apostolic Journey of Pope Leo XIV to Spain, taking place from 6 to 12 June, and the other for the Centenary of the Coronation of the Virgin of the Sagrario of Toledo.
The third edition of the General Assembly of the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency concluded on Thursday, 21 May, at Palazzo Wedekind, in the prestigious Angiolillo Hall, in the city of Rome. The event represented an authoritative institutional forum for discussion on key issues concerning the evolution of the European customs system and the future of international trade.
