First outing for the children of the “San Francesco e Santa Chiara” Nursery School of the Vatican City State
Friday, April 24 was a special day for 11 children from the “San Francesco e Santa Chiara” nursery school within the Vatican City, as they took part in their first educational field trip outside the school facility. It was a meaningful experience designed to offer the youngest children an opportunity for growth, socialization, and outdoor fun.
Accompanied by their educators and Don Franco Fontana, Coordinator of the Chaplains of the Directorates and Central Offices of the Governorate, the children—full of enthusiasm and palpable excitement—began with a picturesque walk through the lanes of the Vatican City State.
Holding hands, the children carefully observed their surroundings, showing curiosity and engagement. Upon arriving at the San Giuseppe sports center, they began their activities with free play, essential for becoming familiar with a new environment. The morning then continued with songs, physical activities, and discovery games.
Through games and activities using balls, hoops and cones, the children experimented new ways of coordinating and interacting, developing their motor skills through play. It was a day that marked a first step toward autonomy and exploration, leaving the young participants with the memory of a special fun day of learning and discovery.
