The Postal and Philatelic Service of the Governorate of Vatican City State celebrates the reopening of the Basilica of Saint Benedict in Norcia — rebuilt after the severe damage caused by the 2016 earthquake — with the issue of a stamp and a special “Die Emissionis” postmark.

In 2025 the Pontifical Institute of Christian Archaeology marks its first one hundred years of activity, and the Postal and Philatelic Service of the Governorate of Vatican City State—together with Luxembourg, with which it is issuing a joint release—celebrates this anniversary with a postage stamp dedicated to a century of scientific activity and the safeguarding of Christian-era archaeological heritage.

Two commemorative covers with special cancellation and a limited-edition folder available

On the occasion of the beginning of the Pontificate of Pope Leo XIV, the Postal and Philatelic Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate of the Vatican City State has issued a special philatelic release composed of two commemorative covers, each adorned with thematic stamps and accompanied by a dedicated postal cancellation.

For the year 2025, the Postal and Philatelic Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate of Vatican City State has brought together, in a single volume, all philatelic issues along with the official postmarks issued during the year.

On the occasion of the Solemnity of Christmas 2025, the Postal and Philatelic Service of the Governorate of Vatican City State will issue a pair of commemorative envelopes, also available inside a dedicated limited-edition folder.

The Postal and Philatelic Service of the Vatican City State has announced the new philatelic  program for 2026, for collectors and enthusiasts worldwide with a broad and well-structured proposal that brings together spirituality, history and current affairs.
