Just steps away from Bernini’s Colonnade in St. Peter’s square is a place where, every day, thousands of fragments of people’s lives—postcards, letters, parcels and registered mail—begin their journey to every corner of the globe. This is no ordinary post office: it is the Post Office of the smallest State in the world.

On Wednesday, March 25, a delegation led by the CEO of Poste Albania, Etien Xhafaj, visited the headquarters of Vatican Post, where they were welcomed by the Director of Telecommunications and Information Systems, Antonino Intersimone, and the Head of the Postal and Philatelic Service, Rev. Felice Bruno.

The 28th Universal Postal Congress, the supreme decision-making body of the Universal Postal Union (UPU)—a United Nations agency that coordinates and regulates the global postal system—is currently taking place in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
Among the participants is Vatican City State, represented by an official delegation led by Antonino Intersimone, Director of the Directorate of Telecommunications and IT Services, accompanied by Fr. Felice Bruno (FDP), Head of the Vatican Post and Philately Service, and Vincenzo Marrese.
