On Friday morning, 14 June, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, blessed and inaugurated the Library of the Third Lodge of the Apostolic Palace after the completion of restoration works carried out by the Governorate’s Directorates for Infrastructure and Services, of Telecommunication and Information Systems and of Museums and Cultural Heritage.
The new “San Francesco e Santa Chiara” (Saints Francis and Clare) nursery school inside Vatican City will be inaugurated on Monday, April 14, at 5:00 p.m. The premises will be blessed by Cardinal Fernando Vérgez Alzaga, President Emeritus of the Governorate of the Vatican City State. Among others present are Sr. Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate, the two General Secretaries, Archbishop Emilio Nappa, and Atty. Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, and Fr. Franco Fontana, Coordinator of the Chaplains of the Directorates and Central Offices.

In his address, Cardinal Vérgez Alzaga expressed his sympathy to those affected by the “disastrous DANA storm system of 29 October, which devasted the Region of Valencia and other regions in Spain, last week, including Malaga and Granada”, and ensured his prayers for the victims.

Un asilo nido nato dalla “premura di Papa Francesco per le famiglie dei dipendenti vaticani, perché possano disporre di una struttura adeguata a cui affidare i loro piccoli”. Lo ha sottolineato il Cardinale Fernando Vérgez Alzaga, Presidente emerito del Governatorato dello Stato della Città del Vaticano, durante l’inaugurazione dell’asilo nido “San Francesco e Santa Chiara”, il primo in assoluto aperto all’interno delle Mura Vaticane. La cerimonia del taglio del nastro si è svolta, lunedì pomeriggio, 14 aprile, in una palazzina in via San Luca.
A pochi giorni dall’apertura della Porta Santa, è stato inaugurato il nuovo Ufficio Postale mobile in Piazza San Pietro.
La cerimonia, con la consegna simbolica della chiave e con la firma dell’Atto di donazione, si è svolta, giovedì mattina, 19 dicembre.
Le luci illuminano il maestoso albero di Natale e i veli rimossi svelano l’artistico presepe al suono di musiche e canti della tradizione. È giunto il momento in cui fedeli e pellegrini possono ammirare le installazioni natalizie in Piazza San Pietro.

Vi parteciperanno, tra gli altri, Sr. Raffaella Petrini, Presidente del Governatorato, con i due Segretari Generali, l’Arcivescovo Emilio Nappa, e l’avvocato Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, e don Franco Fontana, Coordinatore dei Cappellani delle Direzioni e degli Uffici Centrali.
È stata conclusa a tempo di record, alla vigilia del Giubileo, la nuova copertura vetrata fotovoltaica del Cortile delle Corazze all’ingresso dei Musei Vaticani. Produrrà energia elettrica da fonte rinnovabile.
