The Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy marks the 325th anniversary of its founding at the Braccio Nuovo of the Vatican Museums

As part of the celebrations for the 325th anniversary of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy, the Choir of the Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci Foundation performed a concert in the Braccio Nuovo of the Vatican Museums on Wednesday afternoon, 27 May 2026.

For the occasion, the Choir, conducted by Maestro Adriano Caroletti, gave the first performance of In Christo vocati, the hymn of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy composed by Maestro Michele Manganelli.

Among those present were Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, Cardinals Dominique Mamberti, Rolandas Makrickas, George Jacob Koovakad, Christophe Pierre, and Lorenzo Baldisseri, Archbishops Paolo Rudelli, Substitute of the Secretariat of State, Luciano Russo, Secretary of the Section for Diplomatic Staff of the Secretariat of State, Edgar Peña Parra, Apostolic Nuncio to Italy and the Republic of San Marino, and Salvatore Pennacchio, President of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy, Sr. Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, Secretary General, and Barbara Jatta, Director of Vatican Museums and Cultural Heritage.

To commemorate the 325th anniversary of its foundation, the Governorate of Vatican City State, through the Postal and Philatelic Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems, produced a commemorative stamp series, a folder, a souvenir envelope, and a special postmark.

It was Pope Leo XIV who, during his visit to the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy, signed the enlarged reproduction of the commemorative stamp on Monday afternoon, 27 April, at the Academy’s historic headquarters, Palazzo Severoli, located in Piazza della Minerva in Rome.
