Over Fifty Thousand Smart LEDs to Illuminate the Christmas Tree in St. Peter’s Square

More than fifty thousand smart LEDs from Twinkly’s professional line were used to illuminate the Christmas tree in St. Peter’s Square. The system was designed to deliver a striking visual impact, to be admired by the many pilgrims expected during the Christmas season of this Jubilee Year.

For these installations, advanced solutions by Ledworks were employed, including Twinkly intelligent LED lights and their professional controllers. The patented mapping technology and app-based control make it possible to create refined lighting effects that enhance the Christmas tradition and the solemn atmosphere of the Jubilee.

For the fourth consecutive year, the lighting installations include not only the illumination of the Christmas tree in St. Peter’s Square, but also the decoration of numerous trees throughout Vatican City and in the papal villa at Castel Gandolfo.

With this renewed commitment, Ledworks reaffirms its intention to place technology at the service of beauty and tradition.

The Christmas tree and the Nativity scene in St. Peter’s Square were inaugurated and illuminated on Monday afternoon, December 15, by Sr. Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, together with Archbishop Emilio Nappa and Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, Secretaries General. The tree and Nativity scene adorning the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo were inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon, December 9.
