Monumental Christmas Tree arrives in St. Peter’s Square
At dawn this morning, Thursday, November 27, the 25-meter Norway spruce from the Val d’Ultimo, donated by the municipalities of Lagundo and Ultimo, arrived in St. Peter’s Square aboard an oversized transport, organized by the company Doneda.
The spruce intended to decorate St. Peter’s Square this Christmas was felled at dawn on Monday, November 24, and sent to Rome.
It has already been erected and will be decorated and fitted with lighting by the Directorate of Infrastructure and Services of the Governorate.
At the end of the Christmas season, essential oils will be extracted from the tree’s green branches by the Austrian company Wilder Naturprodukte, while the remaining wood will be donated to a charitable association for reuse, in keeping with respect for creation.
