The Garden and Environment Service of the Governorate honours the Jubilee

Floral decoration on the Holy Door

The Garden and Environment Service of the Governorate of Vatican City State has prepared and installed the floral decoration that adorns the Holy Door. With great skill and passion, eight members of staff decorated the famous Door, through which millions of pilgrims will walk, in the course of the Holy Year.

The floral composition extends across two fir wood panels, fixed with plant holders with vases, and is a way to honour the Jubilee and the Nativity of our Lord.

The vases contain branches of fir trees, red roses, golden pine cones, cedar and Christmas decorations.

The floral composition was installed around the Holy Door’s jambs on Monday morning, 23 December, by staff of the Garden and Environment Service.
