Making peace is the most beautiful thing

Five hundred colored balloons made of natural rubber - all biodegradable, including the rope, expression of the vocation to protect creation of the Governorate - launched into the sky to express joy for meeting with Pope Francis. On each were impressed the words of the Pontiff: "To you, dear boy, to you, dear girl, you are precious in the eyes of God".

On Friday morning, 19 July, Cardinal Fernando Vérgez Alzaga and Sister Raffaella Petrini, respectively, President and General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City State, met with H.E. María Leticia Casati Caballero, Ambassador of Paraguay to the Holy see on a farewell visit.

An itinerary for families promoted by Vatican Museums in the “green lung” of the State

Two hours in the Vatican Gardens, in the green heart of Vatican City State, is a project promoted by Vatican Museums and aimed at parents with children. Launched on 13 July and lasting through 26 October, “Capture Nature” offers the first guided tour dedicated specifically to families, where they can spend two hours in the Vatican Gardens, immersed in nature and learning outdoors. The tours take place on Saturdays. The itinerary in nature is inspired by Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter, Laudato Si’ and has the aim of raising awareness in adults and children on issues related to care for creation and protecting our Common Home.

A reality in constant updating

There is no shortage of challenges to face for a reality as vast as that of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governatorate of the Vatican City State. In particular, in a world in rapid updating, especially in the technological and scientific field, the acquisition of the latest innovations is an absolute necessity. On the other hand, the Directorate has competences ranging from Post and Philatelic, to Networks and telephones, but also to computer systems and all security against possible attacks of cyberpirates. The director, Antonino Intersimone, talks about this in this interview and says he is ready to face the challenges with competence, agility and a clear strategic vision.
